Dong Ba pub for X'mas 2011 :) Free party goodies and countdown to Christmas + my early surprise birthday celebration by Wei Ren and my other friends. Walked down to Balestier for Macdonald's because bak kut teh was closed. Everybody ended up playing Charadium(Iphone multiplayer game) till 5am. Walked to the market for breakfast, waited for the morning bus because we didn't want to waste money on cab fares. lol. Especially with the recent fare hikes..... Reach home and K.O. So tired! lol. Wonderful night! :)

Ate crab during my actual birthday celebration with my family yesterday @ Jumbo- Riverwalk building. Horrible customer service except for a pregnant lady dressed in black who is very nice and meticulous. The rest are HORRIBLE. Absolutely hate their service. Speechless man... Anyway, that is a medium size chilli crab by the way!

I have a lot of people wishing me and spamming my facebook/ twitter/ whatsapp/ message this year. Thank you all for your wishes and i replied every of you guys personally! Not copy and paste okay! :) Thank you to my classmates who baked a cake for me and went to school give it to me. Thank you to my mum who bought me a iphone 4s and treated me to a big meal.

My driving experience and recommendations

My driving experience... 
I passed my driving test on 14 July 2011, manual license under SSDC- Woodlands. I was a school student. I went to register on my birthday 28 Dec 2010 and had to wait till Feb for my BTT. They will book your preferred BTT test date when you register but school student must pass BTT trial test before the test date to be eligible to sit for the test.

And... to sit for the trial test, you must do 3 BTT practices before you can sit for 1 trial test. If you fail the trial test, you have to do another 3 more practices before you are able to take another trial test. The cycle goes on... Yup! But for school students, theory is considered free. You have to pay first and then attend the trial test/ practices and the money will be refunded back into your account. If you did not attend, your money will be forfeited.

Upon passing your BTT, you are able to get your PDL- Provisional Driving license. Only after you have your PDL then you are able to go for driving lesson. PDL needs to be shown to the instructor every lesson. PDL is only valid for 6 months at the cost of $25.

You will need to pass FTT before you book your TP test date. So, while you are learning drive, you should get your FTT as well so that you will not waste time. Same time for school students, 3 practices and 1 trial test. This time, you must pass your trial test before you can book your FTT test date. Same thing, you pay, attend the trial test/ practices then money will be refunded back into your account.

Okay, back to PDL. Book your driving lesson after you pass your BTT. First driving lesson will be boring. They will talk to you able theory, demonstrate to you, you do forward backwards and right turn. If you are fast then left turn. First few lessons don't even think of going on the road especially if you are learning at woodlands. Don't be discouraged. As long as they feel that you are stable, they might bring you out for awhile. Every lesson max can sign for 2 subjects unless internal assessment/ stated. If you are fast they will teach you more but won't be reflected in the booklet because need minimum number of lessons to book TP. If fail subject, got to repeat next lesson till pass before going on.

Manual lessons got 33 subjects, 4/5 stages (Can't remember). At the end of each stage got to do a internal assessment. To sum up and see if you can produce what you have learned. Fail, repeat till pass to move on. Must complete all stages and subjects + 1 complusory auto car lesson otherwise cannot book TP.

Although most cars are auto, manual cars will be good if...
1. You have coordination
2. Able to multitask
3. Family's car/van is manual
4. You want to go on to get class 4 license
5. You want to Drive overseas
And
6. Rental of cars normally cheap for manual cars
7. Learning experience
8. Enjoy changing gears
9. Safer

I learned manual transmission before i wanted to prove that girls can drive manual cars too!
Manual can drive both auto and manual cars.
At SSDC manual only got 3 more lessons than auto lessons.



I cracked my brain to write private vs school driving lessons. Might miss out some things here and there but the important points are there! Take a look! :)

Private VS School


Private- Advantages
Cheap
More flexible timings/ Able to do last minute booking/ Re-schedule lessons with no forfeit
More road training
Fixed instructor
Usually able to park in public carparks as compared to school students
More confident on road

Private- Disadvantages
Instructors normally...
1. Come late
2. Go toilet
3. Bring you to petrol station and use your time to pump oil
4. Dislike slow/weak/poor students. They might even refund you the deposit and ask you to look for other instructors
5. Fall asleep in the car
6. Forget about your lesson

No insurance
No emergency brake pedal at instructors side (Depends if they installed a brake pedal at their side)
Car usually poorly maintained
Might be rude
Some can be quite bian tai (Girls please be careful, heard many stories already)
They choose their students
Well, i also heard that the testers do not like private students

TP bookings are prioritised for school students so private students might have to wait longer.


School- Advantages
Trusted booking system
Free BTT and FTT trial test- unlimited
Instructors will not "abandon" you if they feel that you are weak
Cars well maintained
Internal Assessment conducted at every stage
Compulsory Circuit and road every lesson- Familiar with circuit & test roads
Comes with insurance
All cars have extra emergency brake pedals at instructors side


School- Disadvantages
More expensive as compared to Private
Needs to have minimum number of lessons before booking TP
Every lesson is scheduled with allocated subject by sequence- If fail, repeat till subject is cleared before moving on
No fixed instructor unless pay more to have fixed instructor
No fixed car
Last minute changes only can try-sell and hope someone buys your slot so that money can be refunded into your acc. If try-sell unsuccessful, money forfeited.


I hope this helps all of you out there that are confused. I wrote about my driving experience and the whole process and lastly ended off with private vs school lessons. I know about the private lessons because my bf is learning under a private instructor and he met a badass instructor before so he changed to another one. Don't stick with your instructor if you think he can't teach or drive in a car you are not comfortable in. CHANGE!

Saved a lot of time. (hehe) For lazy people!
It's a little burnt on the outside but it still tastes alright.
Wr did all the mixing. yayeeee.

Freshkon Solitaire Dezigner contact lenses

Hello everybody! I've been away for awhile.

I took a nap and i'm feeling quite refreshed now.

I pre-ordered my freshkon solitaire dezigner lenses because they didn't have the instock for my power. It's going at $27 per box/ pair. For every 2 boxes, you will get a free dezigner mirror worth $12.90.

I got 2 pink, 1 blue and 1 green! Will be collecting it by this friday. Yay! So excited to collect pretty lenses.

Not all optical shops have it. I recommend ordering through the phone or checking with them if they carry this series because you go down.

I got mine from Optical 88 at Thomson Plaza. Their staff are very friendly! Very good service. Check them out! :)

I went to amk hub to search for it but nobody seemed to know what i was talking about. So, don't waste your time and effort that makes you look like a fool at the end of the day. If you are staying at north, you might want to check out Optical 88 shops. According to the optometrist, it's exclusive to optical 88 shops!

Eski Bar

Had my first legal age drinking outside @ Eski Bar.
It's located at circular road.

Yay so fun at the super cold area- 3 degree celsius. Took a few pictures! Hahaha. Needa go back there again to finish the bottle. Yayee.

Feet hurt like a bitch. Because they love to torture me by walking here and there.

There was a group having a birthday party and the bartender will give you free shots according to your age! FREE. Wah... Free i also don't want. Lets say i turn 19 this year means i'll have to drink 19 shots leh... Oh my. The birthday girl at the bar drank 20 shots and only puke once. *Clap hands*

The people there are pretty nice and funny. Lol! Too bad, had to leave early because someone needed to catch the last bus home. The rest of us walked to liang court mac to eat. lol. Slept so well after drinking. Had nightmares everyday for a week.

Projects, projects, projects

Have been going back to school for my final year projects these few days although it the holidays, ahem, last week of my holidays in school.

Fyi, i have no more time to play. Time to buck up, and trust me, it's worst than taking O's. Those who are srsly thinking of joining my course, if you ever found out what is it, think again.

Suffering for 3 years, for a dual cert. Good and bad, but you gotta work harder than O's. It's like O's x3 times harder and for 3 years.

Aug- Sept holidays

I'm having my holidays now! It's my last week of holidays and i am not looking forward to going back to school and attachment.

I went abroad for 2d1n, ice skating, 2 21st birthdays that happened on the same day and same place (Coincidence!), ate lots of buffets, hang out alot at night and meeting up with my primary buds.

I am going to meet my childhood friend for din tomorrow! Looking forward to it. I am afraid that we have nothing to talk. Lol! It have been so long since i saw her. She became very pretty and i couldn't recognise her anymore! Hahaha.

Pretty sad that i lost a lot of photos. There were in PEF format and i thought i would store it till i was available and in the right mood to edit them. Then, i realised, i couldn't open it anymore. That's alot of photos :( Either my com can't open it, or something went wrong during the transfer. I lost all of the photos in PEF format... Didn't know my com & CS4 couldn't open PEF. Even my best bet which is to transfer the photos back to the cam and convert it to another format didn't work. Booooo. Sucks.

I got my paper license!

I passed my driving(manual) test last week! Wr accompanied me to the driving school and waited patiently for me outside I went in for my warm up, then follwed the instructor to this room where i waited for the tester to pick me up! Did my circuit, road and waited for my result!

Then took back my booklet, watched graduation video and waited for my paper temp license! The whole process took about 3 to 4 hours. Yea... almost fell asleep while waiting because i couldn't sleep the night before.

I expect myself to do better. Well, irritating drivers on the road cost me 4 points , and i don't know why the other 4 points were marked during the circuit. I had a perfect warm up! But, at least i passed. My friend said "It's not a competition for the best score, at least you passed."

I am waiting for my photocard license naow! Can't wait! Oh wait, i used a ugly picture. Boooo. I looked even worse on that day due to lack of sleep so no point taking another passport picture! Heh.

After that wr brought me to our fav hawker centre to have brown rice & fish soup! But we were too early, brown rice not cooked yet... so have to settle for white rice. But it's alright! Fish soup still yummy!

So proud of myself for passing on 1st try and getting a manual license!

I need my weekly dosage of driving. Looks like dad isn't willing to get me a cheap/opc/2nd hand car :( Mum don't know anything about automoblies so i have to wait till i get a job to get myself a car and people with cars aren't that willing to lend it to me because of the insurance problem and its not theirs. For people without cars, waiting for me to bring them around! Lol!

Sigh, looks like i have to wait! Hate waiting! Pffft.

Side note: Packeting dinner for wr before meeting sarah, berd and becca for dinner tonight!

Monday blues

How i wish that time would stop whenever i am with you...

Tomorrow is Monday again! -.- I officially hate Mondays. First, manpower at the clinic will be decreased by 8. Secondly, patient load have been increased. Thirdly, i only get 20mins of lunch break. Fourthly, i have to work both morning and afternoon if there are too many patients.

Yes, complaining. But srsly? Argh.

Open your eyes wide

An accident that happened to my good friend that was totally uncalled for.

She is now lying in the hospital with a broken feet and awaiting for her operation to place a metal insert and her bf who is slightly more lucky got away with multiple stitches, a few twisted joints and a cracked collar bone.

They were on their way to i don't know where but they were riding along bugis. The lights changed green and forward they went. But! An unexpected taxi drove out of no where and was intending to turn right from the opposite lane. The taxi stopped his car in the middle of the 3 lanes that were supposed to drive straight only. They couldn't brake to a stop in time and my dear friend flew forward, to the roof of the car and rolled down to the ground.

Can't drivers be more considerate? Open your eyes! If you are tired, don't drive! Why make others suffer?

New sem, bad sem

I just saw the timetable for my new semester! Monday to Thursday - 8 to 5:30 (Attachment) Friday - 8 to 6 (School) Saturday - 8 to 12:30 (Attachment) Crazy enough? Not to mention my attachment places are at the other end of s'pore! Minimum 1 hour travelling time! Madness! It's my last year in school! I shall pull through and really consider about my future! I hope i don't collapse! :(

The loan sharks splashed paint on my neighbour's door again. 2nd time :(

This time round they threatened to splash paint on the neighbours (including mine!!!) houses and lock us in/out depending on your luck. Boohooooo.

I plan to go jogging/ swimming tomorrow since it's my off day!

But... I'm scared! *trembles*

It's the 21st day of the month again. Time flies so quickly.

Well well well, lets count. 3 years and 4 months. Persevere, communicate and trust. We walked to thomson plaza hand in hand just to get a cup of starbucks coffee. We held hands as we discuss what we have in plan for the future. The type of cars we like, houses that we plan to stay in and exchanging tips to drive a car. lol. Sweet moments like this make me hang in there. ♥

First movie date: No Strings Attached

Hehehe, while waiting for my hair to dry before i can get to sleep, baby boy ask me to googled some pokemon names and all the fat ones was me and the skinny and muscular ones was him! Bleah.

Today... or rather yesterday since it is already past midnight, we watched our first movie together. Our first movie date! Believe it or not, after 3 years and we decided to watch our first movie together without anyone else. Lol. We watched no strings attached. A very funny lines but a not so funny story line. I'll give 3/5 for the rating.

I'm resuming attachment today!

And....

I'm having my first pratical on thursday! Woohoo. Baby boy wants to take leave to accompany me to my first lesson. Hehehehe. So excited!

Jealousy

I pass my BTT yesterday night! ☺Wr passed too! Hehehe.

Wr came to fetch me for er, late brunch + early dinner just now together with samuel and his gf. Nom nom nom.

I felt very.... weird.

Pauline is working these few days. Then i have no one to talk to! Boohooooooooo :(

In addition, im very bored these few days also! Hahaha. Time to prepare for FTT. Can't wait to drive!

Chinese New Year

I went to my relatives house on day 1, followed by wr's relatives and his friends houses for the rest of the days. Never had a good sleep for a few days because we gamble through the night. A few days a year, whereby you meet with your friends and have a great time.

Pauline turns 21

Firstly!

It's Pauline's 21st birthday today! She told me that she is very touched because nobody called to wish her yet. All via message/ facebook only! :)

Have a wonderful year ahead & thanks for always being there for me. Only you can detect the slightest change in emotion and dragged me out to ask me if i'm fine. Never found a friend more sincere and caring than you. You earned your tittle of miss blur sotong because you are always so clumsy and clueless. Hehehe. Don't be so blur already lah! Rounding soon kay! ^^

On my 18th birthday....
I went to buy alcoholic drinks at midnight, drank it all down, and vomitted all out.
Plan: To watch sunrise. Plan failed. Woke up in the afternoon to enroll in motorcar! On the way back, motorbike accident. Did some breakdancing moves on the road. Everyone is safe and sound with multiple abrasions and no broken body parts. Count us as lucky. Security guard from ajc was very nice, he offered to lock our bike in the school campus until we got ourselves treated. Students brought us to the washroom and brought first aid boxes for us to clean and dress our wounds. A teacher came down to help me dress our wound. Decided to call for an ambulance. Ambulance arrived. Went to KTPH. Sent to A&E. Wheelchair assigned to us. Saw the doctor, did the dressing, had a jab done, took the medicine and the day ended.

I was carrying my dslr in my new crumpler camera bag. Luckily the bag was thick and padded properly so my dslr was fine too. No pics were taken because the day started late and ended early. Just some pics of me having supper at Rochor Beancurd @ Upp Thomson + buying my 1st legal alcohol drink at 7-eleven. No time to develop the raw images. Will do it when i'm free.

I've to get some rest now. After the accident, i've been feeling drowsy and dozing off 2 hours after i woke up. :)

Bye bye people. Drive safely. Many inconsiderate drivers on the road now. I seriously think the legal age for driving should be reviewed. Reckless drivers everywhere.
